FROM THE ANDEAN PEAKS TO THE MYSTIC CLOUD FOREST: Cusco to Pilcopata Lodge

Morning Departure from Cusco (3,300m): Your trip to the Amazon begins early from Cusco. We will pass through impressive Andean valleys, dotted with picturesque rural communities, offering glimpses of traditional Peruvian life.
Ancient History and Colonial Charm: Our first stop takes us back in time with a visit to the pre-Inca tombs of the Lupaca culture. Then, we will arrive at the charming colonial city of Paucartambo, where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast. Explore its beautiful historic streets and visit the fascinating local museum, packed with regional history.
Descent to the Cloud Forest (1,700m): As we continue our descent, the landscape changes drastically towards the lush cloud forest. We will pause for a delicious lunch in the middle of this vibrant ecosystem. This area is a biodiversity hotspot, home to incredible endemic species.
Wildlife Encounters and Botanical Wonders: Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Spectacled Bear and the magnificent Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruvianus), Peru’s national bird, known for its elaborate and captivating courtship ritual. The forest is also a treasure trove of orchids, bromeliads, ferns and other unique flora.
Arrival at Pilcopata Lodge (690m): We will continue our trip, absorbing the spectacular natural beauty, until we reach Pilcopata Lodge. Enjoy a hearty dinner and settle in for your first night surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

AMAZON AND ADRENALINE IMMERSION: Pilcopata Lodge to Manu Lodge

Trip to the Manu Lodge of the Amazon: After breakfast at our lodge, we will board our vehicle towards Atalaya. Along the way, we will have the option of visiting a coca plantation or an enchanting hummingbird garden, a truly magical experience for bird lovers.
River Trip and Welcome to the Lodge: At Atalaya, you will be outfitted with rubber boots before embarking on a picturesque 40-minute boat ride to the Manu Lodge. Upon arrival, take some time to relax, perhaps enjoying a refreshing dip in the river, before lunch.
Optional Zipline Adventure: For thrill seekers, the afternoon offers an exciting optional zipline experience! Fly through the jungle canopy, getting a unique perspective of the rainforest from above. Our high mountain team, certified in safety, guarantees a safe and unforgettable ride, culminating in a 20-meter rappel to the forest floor.
Exploration of Lake Machuwasi: In the afternoon, we will visit the peaceful Lake Machuwasi. Glide across the water on traditional rafts, spotting various species of birds, including the prehistoric-looking Hoatzin. With a little luck, we might also spot monkeys and capybaras along the banks.
Night Walk through the Tropical Rainforest: At dusk, we embark on an exciting night walk. The jungle transforms after dark, revealing a different world of nocturnal creatures. Our guides will help us search for fascinating insects, amphibians and other elusive fauna.
Dinner and Overnight: After our exciting night hike, enjoy a delicious dinner and a quiet night at the lodge, lulled by the sounds of the Amazon jungle.

Esta vibrante pared ribereña es un punto de reunión para una espectacular variedad de loros, incluyendo loros de cabeza azul, periquitos de ojos blancos y guacamayos de frente castaña.
