Cusco – Patabamba – Huchuy Qosqo
We will pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 am. Then we will drive to Patabamba village, located at 3800 m.a.s.l. (12467 f.a.s.l.). This village is the starting point of the Huchuy Qosqo Trek.
We will hike towards a mountain pass located at 4200 m.a.s.l. (13779 f.a.s.l.). This pass provides the perfect spot for appreciating the beautiful snow capped mountain of the Sacred Valley.
Afterwards, we will descend to Pucamarca village. After touring the place, we will continue our hike to Huchuy Qosqo. We will spend the night on a campsite near the archeological site.
Huchuy Qosqo – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
We will wake up at 7:00 am to have breakfast. Then, we will go to the Huchuy Qosqo archeological site. You will explore the main buildings of the site, including the ceremonial terraces. It is possible to spot the village of Lamay from Huchuy Qosqo.
After visiting Huchuy Qosqo, we will hike to Tauca Pass, located at 4400 m.a.s.l. (14435 f.a.s.l.). This is the highest point of the entire route. Then, we will descend to our campsite to have lunch.
Next, we will board our private vehicle to Ollantaytambo train station. Once there, we will board a train to Aguas Calientes town. The trip from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes takes around 1.5 hours. The railway goes along the Urubamba river.
Once in Aguas Calientes, our staff will transfer you to your hotel room. Then, you will have free time to explore the town and its famous hot springs.
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
We will wake up early in the morning to have breakfast. Then, we will board a bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. After passing the security checkpoints, our trip to Machu Picchu will start.
You will have a guided tour of the most important monuments of the citadel. You will explore the Main Temple, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, and much more. If you have booked a ticket to Huayna Picchu mountain, our staff will guide you to the respective entrance.
After the guided tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes. You can have lunch at a local restaurant, however the lunch is not included in the tour price.
In the afternoon, we will take a train back to Ollantaytambo. There, our staff will transfer you to Cusco city. We will be arriving in Cusco around 9:00 pm
